The West Coast Subaru Show started in a small parking lot in 1999 and has become the weekend festival that exists 20 years later. The event offers overnight camping accommodations drowning Subarus from all over the West Coast from British Columbia to Colorado. This year, roughly 800 people attended with over 350 Subarus with 200 cars registering for the show. Friday night was a drizzle of rain, but helped keep dust down at the camp grounds.

This year’s event was challenging to set up according to the organizers and without them this event wouldn’t have happened. Thanks to the support from Chris Tex Walker, Monika Walker, Erich Breitkreutz, and Brittany Little for giving their time and efforts. Thanks to Robert Allin Walker and the parking crew, Lisa Faulkner Lewis, Jay Spang, Sarah Jo Spang, Matt Faraca, and all the judges at the show. Thanks to Dennis Nicholson, Sean Nicholson and the rest of the family for running the mudpit.

At the end of the day, WCSS handed out the Show-N-Shine awards, as well as raffling prizes from what their generous sponsors donated. During the ceremony, “Little Red”, the 1984 Subaru GL was given 2nd place in Generation 2. 1st place went to a 1984 Subaru GL-10 with under 10,000 original miles with the added factory option of Power Steering, Air Condition, Power Windows, Cruise Control and a digital speedometer!

As the evening set in, many attendees returned to their campsites to enjoy another night. As Chris would describe, “This is truly the best part of the show in the evenings getting a chance to talk about the day, meet new friends, catch up with old friends, and prepare the vehicle for Sundays drive home. – http://www.nwmotiv.com/west-coast-subaru-show-2014/
