January 6th, Subaru-Adventures.com regrouped to began the New Year at Ironman 4×4 in Sherwood, Oregon to meet up with other Overland Enthusiasts for coffee and donuts with a raffle prize give-away and surprise visit with Cooper bringing his swapped V5 Subaru Impreza. Had the chance to also meet up with Chris, previous owner of the 1992 Subaru Loyale. Chris had sold it 10 years ago. Due to the circumstance, the 84 Subaru GL was taken for a weekend trip instead. After the morning meeting, Gregg, Carsten and I set out for Olallie Lake. After reaching the main cabin, we were greeted with a group of others who had claimed the main cabin. As Gregg was prepared and had grown up in the area, there was a plan b of a cabin where we would have to portage gear from the vehicles. Weather forecast was expecting 12″-14″ of fresh snow. What inspired the next morning made for a phenomenal exit from the Mt. Hood National Forest and visit the North American Bigfoot Center in Boring, Oregon.
